Fire Training & Advanced Line Locating

The Arkansas Gas Association (AGA) is offering two days of Fire Training and two days of Advanced Line Locating! All training sessions are one day events held at the Black Hills Energy office in Ozark. Lunch will be provided by Rivertowne BBQ. Funds raised from these training sessions will go towards the AGA Scholarship Program. Class spots are limited so sign up today!

What to bring -
  • 1 - 30 lb & 1 - 20 lb ANSUL type BC extinguisher OR 2 - 30 lb extinguishers 
    • *If only one student attends from a company, two extinguishers are still needed.
  • Fire flash suits, hardhats, safety glasses and a pair of leather gloves are required
  • Students must wear cotton or flame retardant clothing while participating in the fire training & shirts must be long sleeved.
    • *No nylon clothing will be allowed. 
What to expect -
  • Classroom lecture
    • Demonstration of the proper use of various fire extinguishers, safety procedures, & proper maintenance and inspection of extinguishers in accordance with NFPA -10. 
  • Hands on session
    • How to safely extinguish the following types of fires: 
      • High pressure natural gas impinging jet with baffle fire
      • High pressure natural gas flange fire
      • Above ground flammable liquid fire
      • Tri-level flammable liquid fire
      • Bell hole natural gas fire
      • Flammable liquid leakage fire
      • Flammable liquid shop fire
      • Junk pile natural gas fire
      • Flammable liquid spill fire
      • On ground flammable liquid fire
      • Below ground flammable liquid fire

What to bring -
  • Simply bring your line locating equipment and we will provide the rest!
What to expect -
  • This training is targeted to those employees with good working knowledge of Line Locating and need to learn additional techniques that will improve their accuracy in finding gas facilities that present a challenge. 
  • We will spend 2.5 hours in the classroom for lecture and discussion of the different line locating equipment, the importance of a good grounds, and the theory of completing a circuit to receive a proper signal. 
  • The remainder of this session will be hands on in the field working with the instructor and other attendees improving their skills. 
  • The employees are required to bring and use their own Line Locating equipment to build confidence and accuracy with what is issued to them by our company.
